Photo Poetry

We are trying something new today. James wrote a poem about one of his photos. Not sure if he was inspired from watching The Doors documentary discussing Jim Morrison’s love of poetry or by Chazz’s book of poetry (“Let Me Put My Poems in You”) from the Blades of Glory movie. Let us know what you think.

Orange and Grey Sky
- Photo and poem by James Thompson

Manhattan sunset

As the grey storm clouds linger to take a rest,
we see the orange light from the sunset to the west.

Looking over the Manhattan skyline,
Mother Nature once again has blown my mind.

I take five quick photos in a row
and use magical powers to combine them for this photo.

One that shows dramatic gray clouds without losing the sun’s glow,
thanks to technology and other things that I know.

This photo may be a little more dramatic than how it actually looked,
but so was that love scene you read in a book.

I love this, so vibrant… the poem is a nice touch, too. When you said “use magical powers to combine”, I immediately started thinking about Captain Planet, :D Humorous.

Great photo. I love the colors. The colorful buildings and sunset are a great contrast to the gray sky.
